From a Dream to a Legacy: 40 Years of Privilège Marine

In 2025, Privilège Marine has celebrated 40 years of history, expertise, and passion for long voyages.

Founded in 1985 by sailor Philippe Jeantot, Privilège Marine was born out of a strong and bold conviction:
to design catamarans able to cross oceans with confidence, safety, and comfort, without compromise. From the very beginning, the shipyard has bucked short-lived trends, prioritizing robustness, seaworthiness, and an approach deeply focused on offshore sailing.

Forty years later, this vision remains intact. In Les Sables d’Olonne, the historic birthplace of the shipyard and land of sailors, each Privilège catamaran continues to be designed and built with the same high standards. Here, time is not the enemy: it is an ally. Precision requires patience, excellence is built over time, and quality is measured by the miles traveled.

To mark this anniversary, Privilège Marine is unveiling a tribute film recounting its history and evolution. From 1985 to the present day, this journey highlights the women and men who have shaped the shipyard, the skills passed down, the innovations mastered, and this unique culture of detail and workmanship.

Because at Privilège Marine, each catamaran is much more than just a boat. It is the result of craftmanship, a long-term vision, and an uncompromising commitment to those who choose to sail far and wide for long periods of time.

Forty years after its creation, Privilège Marine looks to the future with the same ambition: to design unique catamarans built to last, to support major sailing projects, and to continue writing, alongside its owners, the most beautiful stories at sea. The Privilège Marine shipyard celebrated its 40th anniversary with its partners, community of enthusiasts, teams, and aspiring sailors during the Privileged Days.
