Privilège Marine sets a new standard in offshore safety with SEA.AI

Privilège Marine takes a new step forward in offshore safety by becoming the first multihull shipyard to make SEA.AI standard equipment across its entire catamaran range.

This decision reflects the philosophy of our French shipyard, which has been firmly established for over 40 years: to design catamarans built for long voyages, where safety, robustness, and peace of mind on board are never optional.

A smart approach to navigation safety

Based on optical and thermal cameras combined with artificial intelligence, the SEA.AI system detects and identifies UFOs and other risks around the boat in real time, including those that radar or AIS cannot always detect. Operating entirely on board and without relying on an external connection, SEA.AI perfectly meets the requirements of offshore navigation for a peaceful cruising experience. By integrating SEA.AI as standard technology on our catamarans, Privilège Marine is enhancing vigilance on board in many critical situations, including:

  • navigation at night or in reduced visibility,

  • dense traffic areas and busy anchorages,

  • detection of unidentified floating objects or debris,

  • assistance with monitoring during voyages with a smaller crew,

  • safe maneuvers and arrivals in marinas,

  • detecting people at sea and protecting marine wildlife.

This technology complements existing navigation systems by addressing one of the major challenges in maritime safety: reliable visual detection, particularly in difficult conditions. The Watchkeeper 320 will be offered as standard in the catalog, while SEA.AI’s Watchkeeper 1024 will also be available to owners as an option.

Innovation guided by the experience of our owners

Initially introduced as an option, SEA.AI was quickly adopted by many Privilège owners sailing long distances, often with small crews. Their feedback confirmed the practical benefits of this technology in everyday use, reinforcing the shipyard’s decision to make it standard equipment on all its models.

Listening to our owners and attentive to their sailing practices, we are incorporating this development into a coherent approach: providing useful, relevant innovations that are perfectly integrated into the onboard experience.

This breakthrough marks a new stage in the evolution of Privilège Marine, where tradition and innovation combine to raise the standards of long-distance catamarans even higher. By integrating artificial vision as a central element of safety, the shipyard is affirming its commitment to offering ever safer yachts, without ever sacrificing elegance, simplicity, and confidence at sea.

At Privilège Marine, innovation is never an end in itself. It serves to make sailing more peaceful and safer, and to enable you to enjoy complete freedom on all the world’s seas.
