After Sales

The relationship continues wherever you sail

A Privilège is built to travel far. Our responsibility therefore travels with it. From direct technical access to mobile shipyard teams and selected partners worldwide, Privilège’s global care is designed to give owners one essential benefit: peace of mind.

The after sales relationship begins before the yacht touches the water

The best after sales intervention is the one that never becomes necessary. That principle starts in Les Sables d’Olonne, long before delivery. A bluewater catamaran combines engines, electrical generation, batteries, inverters, pumps, plumbing, navigation electronics, refrigeration, communications and domestic equipment. Every system has to work individually and as part of the whole yacht.

Our quality teams therefore inspect the boat throughout production. Their work covers supplier quality, composites, fluids and onboard systems, with corrective action taken during construction when required. The objective is straightforward: identify weaknesses when the yacht is still surrounded by the people who built it.

This preventive approach matters because a Privilège is designed to leave familiar waters. An Atlantic crossing from Gran Canaria to Saint Lucia is roughly 5,000 km (2,700 nautical miles). At that distance, reliability is more than convenience. It is part of the owner’s confidence in the boat.

Beyond after-sales: refit & upgrades

When maintenance becomes transformation.

After-sales support is about keeping your Privilège performing as it should — diagnosing issues, carrying out maintenance and repairs, and providing technical assistance wherever you are sailing.

Refit goes one step further. It is about evolving your yacht as your needs, your sailing programme and marine technology change.

From a cosmetic or technical refresh to lithium batteries, solar power, connectivity, new safety equipment or a complete interior and systems refit, our teams can modernise an existing Privilège with the same knowledge and standards that guide our new builds.

Because the people carrying out the work understand how a Privilège was originally designed and built, every upgrade can be considered as part of the yacht as a whole — not simply as an isolated addition.

After-sales keeps your Privilège sailing. Refit prepares it for what comes next.

The first contact gives the owner
immediate clarity

When an issue appears, the first requirement is access. Every owner can be connected directly with the Privilège Marine service team through a dedicated WhatsApp group. A photograph, video, alarm message or description can be shared from the yacht immediately.

Privilège Marine commits to acknowledging requests within 24 hours. The distinction matters. Good technical support does not promise an instant repair before the problem has been understood. It confirms the case, determines its urgency, identifies the right technical lead and establishes the next step.

Some cases can be solved remotely. Others require a replacement part, a local technician or an intervention by the shipyard. The owner should quickly understand which situation applies. Fast communication must create clarity, not simply activity.

The diagnosis comes before the repair

A modern yacht is an integrated technical environment. A pump alarm may be caused by the pump itself, its power supply, a sensor, a valve or the way another system is operating. Replacing the first visible component is sometimes the quickest route to a second failure.

Our service philosophy is deliberately pragmatic. We begin with the symptoms, the yacht’s specification and the operating context. We then determine what needs to happen, who should do it and how the work should be coordinated. This is where the shipyard’s technical memory becomes valuable. Our teams have access to the people, drawings, suppliers and construction logic behind the yacht.

That continuity allows us to connect the owner, captain, equipment manufacturer, marina and local contractor around the same diagnosis. Pragmatism means solving the real problem.

The global network brings local skills into the Privilège system

A yacht capable of crossing oceans cannot depend on one service address in France. Privilège Marine works with a growing network of selected technical partners across the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, the United States and the Pacific. The purpose is to combine local availability with direct access to the builder’s knowledge.

Local yards and specialists understand their cruising areas, marinas, suppliers and logistics. Privilège Marine understands the yacht as it was designed and built. When the two work together, the owner gains a more coherent service chain. The shipyard can define the intervention, provide technical information and remain involved while the work is carried out locally.

The mobile team brings the shipyard to the yacht

Some work requires builder-level knowledge. Structural intervention, bespoke joinery, complex system integration or a significant modification may justify direct Privilège Marine involvement. In those cases, our dedicated after-sales team can travel to the yacht.

This matters operationally. Returning a large catamaran from Greece, the Caribbean or the Pacific to Les Sables d’Olonne can mean thousands of kilometres of sailing, seasonal weather constraints and a major interruption to the owner’s programme. Sending the required expertise to the yacht is often the more rational solution.

The strength of Privilège Marine then becomes visible. The service team can call on our technicians, engineers and craftspeople in Les Sables d’Olonne. Knowledge in composites, electricity, plumbing, mechanics, cabinetry, upholstery and finishing remains connected to the boat after delivery. The shipyard stays behind the yacht.

For a long-range yacht, after-sales service is part of ownership confidence. The owner should know who to contact, who understands the boat and how the right expertise will reach it.

The support continues beyond the warranty period

Warranty is an important contractual framework. The relationship with Privilège Marine is broader. Yachts continue to sail after their original warranty has expired, and owners continue to need maintenance, technical advice, upgrades and sometimes significant repairs.

Privilège’s global care is built around that longer ownership cycle. We support owners while their yacht is under warranty and we remain available when it is no longer under warranty. The commercial framework of an intervention may change. The technical relationship does not disappear.

This long-term approach is particularly important for a bespoke yacht. Equipment evolves. Electronics become obsolete. Energy systems improve. An owner’s sailing programme can change. A yacht may move from the Mediterranean to the Pacific or pass to a new owner. Continued access to the builder helps each decision remain consistent with the original engineering.

The owner has a direct communication route. The request is acknowledged. The problem is assessed pragmatically. Local specialists can be coordinated. Mobile teams can travel when necessary. The knowledge of the shipyard remains available during and after the warranty period.

This is what after-sales service means for a bluewater luxury catamaran. The relationship begins in our workshops, continues at delivery and follows the yacht around the world. Privilège builds boats for people who want the freedom to go far. Global Care is there to make that freedom easier to live with.
